MaerzMusic 2026: Noise Is a Queer Space

In “Noise Is a Queer Space,” Luxa M. Schüttler designs an installation-based parcours and a social play environment in which sound is explored from queer perspectives. A set of snare drums opens up diverse, heterogeneous soundscapes in which pop-cultural reminiscences emerge. The fluidity and provisionality of this setting blur the boundaries between composition, installation, and free play. The result is a kind of acoustic group selfie: queer, in solidarity, personal, hedonistic.
