Le cinéaste chilien nous plonge au coeur d’une communauté de femmes trans et de femmes travesties qui tiennent un troquet. Elles vivent isolées du reste du village comme frappées d’anathème et pour cause : la légende dit que si un homme (cis) croise leur regard, il sera aussitôt rongé par une mystérieuse et terrible maladie. Dans cette œuvre sensible, la grâce côtoie la misère et la solitude tandis que l’amour et la vengeance valsent sous le regard attentif de la mort.
